OBXtek continues to provide exceptional support and service to Arnold Air Force Base during COVID-19 pandemic

McLean, VA, May 11, 2020 – OBXtek continues to provide exceptional service to the U.S. Air Force during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Arnold Air Force Base recently published an article about our work at Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) in Tennessee. Our team, led by Gil de la Cerda, is ensuring personnel on base and teleworking have access to the systems they need to support the Air Force mission and in turn, our warfighters. Without the efforts of the OBXtek Base Communications and Information Technology Services (BCITS) team, teleworking across AEDC would not be viable.

“The BCITS team has done a phenomenal job responding to all the demands created with the onset of the COVID pandemic,” said Gil de la Cerda, OBXtek program manager. “Our team has tackled the challenges of supporting a large telework force while maintaining services to support AEDC’s unique mission. I am proud to be a part of a group of professionals who are completely dedicated to our mission.”

The BCITS team is performing its work while taking the necessary precautions to limit potential COVID-19 exposure. Members of the team must maintain a minimum 6-foot social distance when possible and wear face coverings.

“The current operational posture under Tier 2 conditions has driven a significant shift in the way people across AEDC are performing their duties and responsibilities,” said Nicole Tracey, Services Acquisition program manager. “Whether someone is teleworking or onsite, maintaining connectivity to one another is vital to ensure AEDC continues to meet its mission. I commend the BCITS team for its dedication to keep base communications networks, servers and systems available to the AEDC workforce during this extended and unique operational posture.”

OBXtek provides the U.S. Air Force at AEDC with technical support for Base Communications and Information Technology Services (BCITS), Network Operations (NetOps), infrastructure, and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) implementation and transformation.
